Hackamore with Lift?

My gelding does beautiful practice runs in a Jim Warner Hack and even better in an S Hack. But during races at full speed he will sometimes drop his shoulder coming into the barrel and plow into it. Is there any hackamore out there that will help me keep his shoulder up going into the turn? I'm using a mullen mouth reverse gag during races but I'd love to find a hack that will give me some real lift if I need it.

Are you sure it isnβt more of a driving past the barrel issue? My old gelding would crash the barrels if I sat up too soon.. He ran in a little S hack and I always have plenty of lift.. He was a big horse
(always joked he was part work horse
) and would lose his momentum. I attached videos

Not trying to steal the thread...
But I just switched to running in an S hack...but I don't work my mare at home in it? Should I use it for slow work? Give her more time to get used to it?

My favorite is a chain nose short shank Bobby Stivers for lift.

I found that if I practiced at home in the S hack, I'd get the barrel smashing at the races--that's why I'm looking for something with possibly more lift, if it exists. I don't need whoa. I just need to be able to move him over.
