Location: North Dakota | I would really like to try one on my daughters horse-I'm seeing some "knock offs" on various sites-has anyone tried them and felt they were "just as good" as the $80 reinsman? Not sure I want to invest in an $80 trial.......Please give me your honest opinion-I tend to not buy knock offs but this time may be the exception. |

Location: South Georgia | I cant speak of the Ladybug, but I have a knock-off Little S and a knockoff Jim Warner and they work just fine. I don't have the brand name versions, so I can't fairly compare, however. I have wondered if the Reinsman JW would be better than the one I have, but it's not worth the price difference to me. LOL |

I've been riding in a S Hackamore but I need a little more whoa but whatever rope nose hackamore I use it rubs, doesn't matter if I use vet wrap or sealtex. I'm thinking the metal will help with whoa and keep his nose rub free. |

| I have been using a true ladybug hack on my old Paint mare for quite a few years now. I consider it the hack with the bite that will stop a horse that is difficult to stop.
I consider the ladybug hack a great addition to any racer's bit collection. Control can be varied by how low you position it on your horse's nose. If you don't like the idea of a steel noseband, a little vetwrap can soften it up. |

That's what my horse does in the S Hack. I like the turn it gives him but I can only slow work in it because he'll run right through it.
ETA: but I'm checking all my options with Hackamores out there. I've narrowed it down to a few and I might put up a thread asking what might be the best for my type of running horse.

I always had good luck with the Jimmy Warner hacks. For a light horse I wrapped the noseband.
I also had good luck with the Bozo Hack. The original Ugly bit is the best but sometimes you have to go with the second best which is the the Bozo Hack, the knock off of the Ugly Bit.
