I do have some very well bred barrel horses that my girls used for high school rodeo. One of my favorite horses though is a grade buckskin I bought a couple of years ago. Be careful if you use a quarantine in Louisisna. I bought donkeys from a different kill pen, 4 hours from me. I paid a QT barn to pick them up and keep them overnight. I am so glad they were there just one night, there was no real quarantine to it, horses rubbing noses over low stall walls, no hay in any of the stalls, the lady said they got 2 flakes a day and acted like that was a lot. These horses needed groceries bad and she charged 25/day. I have heard that a lot of the QT barns associated with kill pens are like that, the horses are not much better than at the kill pen. If it is an option, I would ship him and find quarantine where you can check on him.
