| Hey guys I have a 19yr old Barrel mare she's not a hard keeeper but has been on total equine and just isn't looking how I'd like and my gelding won't even touch it. I'm looking for another great feed to keep her feeling her best and healthy to run. Also what's opinions on mixing Standlee Alfalfa Pellets with them. Also best joint supplements. I'm newer to this barrel horse industry have been a specialty act for years but time to pursue my passion for Barrel horses. Thank you all for your time and kindness to the new guy on here |

How awesome and cool for you, When I was a liitle girl that was my dream to become a trick rider but now a bit to old for that, lol..
I also feed the Standlee Alfalfa Pellets with my Bluebonnet I feed the Equilene pellets and my horse are a bit to fat now cause they get their pasture during the day but they get fed twice aday. And they hardly get feed at all, but when winter rolls around I will increase their feed along with the Alfalfa pellets.   |

| I used to feed Total Equine, but had to switch because one of mine flat fell apart on it. The young ones looked great on it, though. I switched to alfalfa cubes, renew gold and chia seeds with BioStar Optimum supplement. He looks and feels great now.

Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | My barrel horses have been on Tribute Kalm n EZ for alittle over 2 years now and i LOVE the way they look. I get compliments on them all the time when we go to shows. Very reasonably priced and they dont need much. I also have my guys on Actiflex joint supplement. I had to go the powder route simply because i have a super picky eater and he wouldnt eat the liquid. But for 2 horses, the powder is more cost efficent anways. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I have switched off feeding any pre mixed feeds BUT when I did I fed Blue Bonnet EX Factor with my alfalfa. Never had a problem with it! My horses looked and felt great.
I now feed alfalfa with some of Winwillows Magical mix called Renew Gold. I pair with a ulcer prevent called Zesterra and call it good. Round bale is always available.

Mine get beet pulp & alfalfa pellets with Horse Guard multivitamin and Tight Joints Plus. Along with Timothy hay.
If I think their coat looks dull I usually add Omega Horseshine. It's a flaxseed supplement. |

Ours get feed just the natural feed. Whole oats, cracked corn, beet shreds, liquid fat, alfalfa pellets, minerals, salts, feeding lime,vitamins and soybean meal. They are on pasture or round bale 24/7. Never in a stall. |

| I phased out bagged feeds over the past 2 years and have gone with the highest quality alfalfa and timothy I could find. I have gotten VERY lucky finding a man who knows how to get Northern Virginia to produce some very, very nice alfalfa, and the man across the road from him cuts the 2nd best timothy I've ever seen.
I did find that the show horses do better with a fat added to this diet so they get 1 16 oz cup of beet pulp shreds, rice bran pellets, flax, and a couple squirts of oil, once a day.
My guys look spectacular these past two years. Hard keepers have become easy, the colic-prone are not now, feet are fantastic, and the really hot (stupid hot) have become sane. My feed bill is just barely over half what it was. Nothing in a bag (worth feeding) is much under $20 per 50lbs. My alfalfa goes 65lbs per bale for $9. Timothy bales are 45-50lbs for $6. The math is easy. The leap of faith that they can do it without the bags is tough. |

Location: Illinois | I used Total Equine for years and it's still my favorite, however my dealer moved out of state and it's over an hour drive for another one. So I had switched to the Nutrena ProForce Fuel and I loved it, only had to feed 1/4 scoop 2x a day but then my cushings horse started to need a little more, but I couldn't feed him more. So now I use a couple different from the Progressive feed line and love it. And I won't have a horse thats not at least on MVP Exceed |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I am another that had zero luck with Total Equine. My besties husband sold it so I tried it for 2 summers with 2 diff horses. Both just lacked bloom and seemed blah. My current prospect is a 4 yr old colt. He gets free choice grass hay, about 1# of oats am and pm and THE Muscle Mass, Forco. He looks great right now. This summer when I was ranching on him hard and he lost quite a bit of weight, I soaked alfalfa pellets for him and it was enough to give him a boost. |
