Looking for a project. Stuck between these two. Comes down to papers at this point. Opinions? |

Yup! And I paid a bunch of things off, and I quit one of my two jobs, and I am in a much, much better situation now. Hope that satisfies your curiosity.
I’m not saying you are wrong for wondering why the change, but 1. People’s situations do improve and we are allowed to move on and enjoy our lives and 2. Not sure why I should explain myself to a stranger
Too bad we can’t be like oh hey good for you, glad you are getting to do some things for yourself! |

It's not that we can't be that way for people, but in my case, I just see people stuck in the same patterns over and over again and shake my head. I love being a cheerleader but I don't blow smoke either.
Also, as far as explaining yourself to a stranger, you do have a tendency to show up here and unload your baggage a few times a year and agonize over it for the benefit of the entire internet. We're getting pretty used to your voluntary submissions, so clamming up on us now is just confusing.
As far as the collection of projects, I'm guilty myself. I just can't leave them alone, and I buy whatever has the most resale value. If you can't decide that for yourself, might ought to let them both go by until you can be decisive on an animal because it screams quality and demands to come home with you. |

| I don't know much about the Roan's, but it seems like anything we have rode Poco Tivio bred has been not-so-fast and always wanting to sole up/not very willing. They look the part, but don't want to do it. (Just from our personal experience. I'm sure there is a nice one out there somewhere lol.) Plus, I am a hancock fan, but the resale is not great on them, because many people are not. |

| Not super crazy about either papers however I come from a place where horses bred like that are common and they are all ranching/rope horses. In this case I would have to look at them as individuals in person. If this is what you are picking from pick the one with the best confromation.

Thank you for being real with me lol (not being sarcastic- seriously.)
I do use this place as a sounding board once a year or so. Cheaper than a pysch LOL. I believe I have broken the cycle. I have made a BIG change in my life since my whole downsizing thing. I do know what you mean though.
As for projects, I am also a sucker. I have a foal I can't (won't) sell, my pasture ornament I have had for 10 years (whom has a forever home), and a horse to ride. I wanted something I could use as a project. However, I didn't want a $5,000 project. Needless to say these are NOT $5,000 horses (or even close...)
These two sets of papers are quite different in horse which makes it a little hard. Both are young, neither are broke, but both are built different and have much different personalities. The roan is around 15hh and quiet & gentle. The buckskin is almost quarter pony size and should not be more than 14hh tall full grown and a little more on edge (but was easy to saddle the first time and super super smart). I like the roans size & personality but the buckskin is "cuter" and probably cattier/grittier. Like maybe down the road she could be a rodeo pony for a kid that can ride.
Anywho, these two aren't the only two I saw that caught my eye in the tiny price range I was looking at. Just the closest to me..... who wants to drive 5 hours to look at a $1500 horse..... |

It cost a lot more than what these horses are listed for to be excited by papers LOL |

| Then, nope. Save your money. Quality over quantity. My projects are exciting on paper as well as in person. Don't buy junk, it just encourages the junk dealers. |

| I don't really like either but based on your description, I would go for the roan. a 15h horse will be a lot easier sale than a horse that might not even reach 14h. |
