I have a 4 year old stud colt, A Famous Tres, he is out of a DTF mare. LOVE. He isn't big, 15HH but wicked fast, long and low stride. He is super sweet, has the best work ethic and really likes his job. I can't fault him in any way other than his pasterns are little longer than I like. Would own another in heart beat.

I have seen quite a few. Never personally had one. But what I've seen I like.

I rode one that was for sale. I was so sure I would buy her. She was 3 at the time so keep that in mind. She was in the hands of a very good trainer. She had a bit of an attitude of "I'm only going to do what you MAKE me do" even for a broke 3 yr old and she didn't feel smooth at all. She felt like her feet hit the ground really hard and she was heavy on her front end. However I have seen so many doing great in the arena, I probably just haven't sat on the right one. Every bloodline has good ones and not-as-good ones.

This is my experience as well. Poor work ethic and heavy front end. I'm sure they can tear down the track like a freight train but not my preference for a user friendly barrel horse.

They can be head strong and gritty. Almost remind me On the Money Reds in that since. They sure have grit n sass! = heart!
