I tried to be responsible and do a search first, but there is really nothing in the past year...  How many of you have cameras in your trailers?  Or who is a research "geek" who has found the best (meaning most reliable) system?  I've read on other sites that people just use cheap baby cameras... do they work?

Edited to add:  Wanting a camera to occasionally or continuously monitor horses in the trailer.

I've heard lots of good htings from this company. http://www.proviewgds.com/index.php/applications/farm-and-ranch/
Maybe give them a call and ask about a portable camera for your trailer?
Good Luck!

I don't have one, but your topic made me curious. So, I went to looking, and it seems some of the wireless backup cameras would make for a relatively cheap option and seem much more durable that a baby monitor. IDK, but will be following to see what everyone uses.

I’m following, too. I have been looking, and I like the split screen where I could use four cameras. I also want weather resistant cameras and a removable monitor so I can use them when i’m staying in the LQ as well as when i’m driving. They’re pricey, tho! And I don’t think the baby monitors will work the way I want it to.

My husband has some cool cameras that he installed on the back of his semi/hay trailer, so he can see idiot drivers crawling up his azz... I guess I should ask him.  His are hard wired, but have held up to weather and he's really happy with them.  He even got out of a minor ticket because the HP was so impressed with his committment to safety.

Maybe the same company makes wireless ones by now.  He put his on 3 years ago.
