| Joshua 9:14 The men of Israel looked them over and accepted the evidence. But they didn't ask God about it.
Joshua was obedient, almost to a fault. But one day as a leader,, he made a costly mistake. Following their victory at Jericho, the Israelites learned that the disobedience of one mane, Achan, greedy for gain, had lost them a battle. They dealt with it, and once again God granted victory. A huge altar signified the entire group's obedience to a Holy God. Soon after, travelers visited Joshua's camp. Dressed in tattered clothes, carrying molded bread, mended wine skins, and patched sacks on their donkeys, the claimed they'd traveled from a far off country, when in realit they lived next door in Gibson. They feared the God of the Israelites and wanted the Israelites to make a convenient with them. Believing the evidence, th men of Israel agreed. But one of God's conditions for His people was to drive out the enemies of the land He had given them. How could Joshua and his men have made such a huge mistake? The same way ALL of us do; they failed to ASK for Divine Guidance....
We, too, don't always learn our lessons well. Any temptation can sneak up on us, dressed in different clothes, slyly tempting us. It may sound right and good, but in our roasters, if we forget to ASK for Jesus's advice, the result can be disastrous. The bad news is that, like the Israelites, we may have to live with the consequences of our hasty decisions. But the GOOD news is that Jesus promises to forgive and RESTORE 1 John 1:9. And His convenient with us can NEVER be broken. THANK YOU! Jesus for forgiveness and restoration.
Father God, guide me today to do all things that will bring glory and honor to You, HELP me DAILY for wisdom to make the RIGHT DECISIONS in EVERY area of my life AMEN
