Location: Somewhere around here | I've only had one horse chiro'd before, his tail/spine needed to be pulled, but honestly I don't know when a horse needs a visit from a chiropractor unless I can visually see something out of place. I'm a big advocate that less is more but I'm willing to have help come out if it's needed. |

I don't wait until there is a problem. I consider chiro like changing oil in your car. LOL Don't wait until a problem to change it, do it every so many miles or months. LOL Mine get adjusted 4 times a year usually. Every 3 months or 4 or so. SO far, they are usually out when they are done, but not so much so they are painful or have tight muscles due to the misalignment. Mine tend to be out in the same places each time. Barrel horses tend to have neck and hind quarter issues. |

Location: Oklahoma | I ususally do it once before the heavy part of my season, then once every couple months depending on how much I am riding/running.
I will make an appt if I have a major slip/fall, or have a heavy schedule ahead. |

| I haven't used a chiro in a long time. That being said, I'm a licensed massage therapist and also trained in Myofascial release. Between those 2, I haven't needed one.
Massages can be given up to twice per week.
I give my horses massage when I feel they are stiff or after they've had a hard weekend of running multiple times. Usually, because of client schedules my horses get a massage around twice a month. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | When my horse just dont feel right/off I can tell just by watching how they are moving while I'm standing ground level or when I ride, if you know your horse really good then you should be able to tell just by being around them all the time. |

AMEN!! A visual glance can tell me if mine are off. Riding can definitely confirm.

Location: Northern Ontario | I am also a massage therapist and am completing my myofascia course. It keeps my horses from developping any stiffnesses and it helps me be more aware of body issues. That being said, I have a really really good chiro and I have her do my horse when she is in town. I am actually learning alot about chiro too which is fun(like different ways to check for soreness) and we work together alot(She sends me her chiro clients that need massage)
With all the being said, I like to keep my guy on a regular Schedule because I don't always catch everything and she can fix the misalignement issues before it starts affecting the muscle. My horse is a rowdy 3yr old colt, so he plays rough with the boys and is always getting into trouble. I should start bubble wrapping him.....

Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | I had a little mare, and I always could tell when she needed adjusting because she wouldn't roll when I turned her out. If she rolled she was good, if she didn't I'd call the chiro. I could also feel a difference in her stride.
If I feel like my horse is striding shorter on one side, I'll have my chiro check their pelvis. Or stiff turns, I'll have them checked. I can also see when my gelding gets body sore and I'll have him adjusted. It's hard to explain, but for me I can almost always feel it, and I'm getting pretty good at being able to tell her the general area that I think needs attention. |

| any attitude change or range of motion is limited. I like to get a chiro out before i start the season, its affordable and makes a difference in the horse. |

| Just out of curiosity, what does everyone pay for a Chiro visit? Mine was a human chiro first, got bored, so went back to school and now does horses and a few other animals. She is amazing. It was 100.00 for first visit/Evaluation, now its only 75.00 for every return visit. I only need her about 3x a year so its well worth it. |

I pay 125.00 no matter how long he takes or have to do, if its 15 mins or 45 mins 125.00, but no complaining here, I always enjoy visiting when he comes out to work on one of my horses, hes a great guy. |

Mine Is the same way, and she does massage BEFORE and After the adjustment as well. No matter how much real adjusting she does, its always an hour per horse, so 75 is not bad. |
