Took my young horse to his 1st rodeo

He was so chill. I was very happy with him. Went in grand entry and he loped slower than he does at home, like an old rope horse. Entered him in the over 40 class and shoulda coulda woulda placed 2nd but he shut down early at the 3rd and I didn't do my part to smooch him up in there. Barrel #3 was practically in the bucking chute and it felt like he started running backwards like a cartoon, lol. I joined ahead of time so I earned 6 points for our effort. I think this will be something fun and different to do this summer. I've always been a jackpotter and we've had so many indoor arena's pop up, we never get to run outside anymore, so that will be fun too.
Also, he's never been around cattle and the week before the rodeo I went to a clinic and they had cattle outside the arena and had the big door open so he got alot of exposure and he just didn't care. So I'm thankful for that too. I feel like a jackpotter gone rouge, lol.
