Seems as tho i have neglected my trailer and it is showing several places of water damage to the interior. How many have tackled their own repairs? Does your auto insurance policy cover such damage if is substancial? Any suggestions of where to start?

I just had my lq redone because of water damage that caused soft spots to the floor. Insurance covered it since the leak was from a leaking pipe, they typically will not cover it if the damage is caused because the trailer was not properly mantained. I have a separate policy on my trailer with St. Farm, not sure if your auto will cover it. I took it to sn RV place. Everything had to be ripped out including walls.

I would check to see if your auto insurance will cover it befor you did anything, water damage to the interior is going to be tricky/hard work.

Do you have a policy on your trailer? If so, that is considered like a camper and most camper policies cover interior damage.

i do have a policy and i need to check and make sure the rv coverage is on there.
On another note.... i think mice are getting in where the electric cord goes out to plug in. any advice on keeping mice out too? haha it sounds like i am a mess but honestly i just didnt pay it any attention over the last year. after i lost my horse girl niece there wasnt any joy hanging out in the barn or attention paid to the trailer. after a year has past i am finally finding joy in my world again and hanging out in the barn. For our first overnight in two years i went to do a clean up of my trailer and am appalled at myself for letting things get so bad.

We have a policy on the trailer thru Farm Bureau, and when we got hail damage, they were awesome and paid to fix EVERYTHING
(probably more than they should have
)!! We took it to Sundowner dealer in Canton TX for about a month. We don't have mice
(don't know why cause we have the dang things in the house
) which I'm thankful for.
I'm sorry for your loss, but also glad you are beginning to find your good place in the barn again.

Regarding the mice problem .... buy some plain steel wool and pack pieces of it around wires, pipes and in any other open spaces that mice can get in .... they will not chew through it.
