I'm planning to buy a weanling this fall and wonder how to feed a baby. I feed my barrel horses chopped alfalfa, rice bran pellets, and flax seed plus coastal hay and pasture. Is this adequate or good for a growing baby?

We have bermuda hay 24 / 7 for our weanlings. We keep them on the mare & foal that they & their mom's ate twice a day, but in the afternoon I give a scoop of oats. We feed nutrena mare & foal & all our foals do wonderful on it.
