Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I never had one but my hubby broke his on dirtbike many many years ago, nothing much could be done back then but rest, his bones sliped and had to be put back in place together, but still healed a little crocked or cockeyed, so the most important thing to do is rest and dont move around to much so that the bones dont slip out of place. I know that the break is very painful. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I shattered mine last year and had to have surgery. A plate and 12 screws later, my pain was way better, but it took a while to get movement back in my shoulder. And then it took a while longer before I could brace on the horn without a lot of pain. I was on a horse in 6 weeks. But...It took 3.5-4 months from injury to feeling like I could run barrels again. I might could have pushed through the pain a little earlier if I was motivated enough, but it hurt longer than I expected it to. |

Location: NC | I broke mine being stupid (not on a horse. Thought i was cool and was "jumping" an uneven wire and caught it with my foot.)when i was 13. Know that was a few years ago but i remember not riding much because you dont want it to move. All i remember was sleeping sitting up.... (im a side sleeper). And that it did hurt. I was in a sling for a while

| Eight years ago, I broke mine in mid-September. I have great friends who kept my horses ridden. The first weekend of November, I made 5 runs Friday through Sunday, including exhibitions, on two horses. I had to have someone saddle for me. My doctor said if I was tough enough to run, then go for it. It was pretty darn painful. |

Location: MN | I believe I made my first run back 8-10 weeks after I broke mine? I was on bed rest for a few weeks tho for several other injuries and actually didnt find out mine was broken until after the fact. It's no wonder why it hurt so bad to move my right side! I was weaker than normal obviously, but my horse definitely took care of me.
