I found a pretty good deal on an older Marlene but I found some broken straps if you lift up the fender where it connects to the tree. Ill try to attach some pictures in hopes someone knows what these are. I have all but taken this saddle apart and cannot find a serial number on it anywhere! Not printed, stamped, nor on a silver tag. Any tips on finding some kind of number would be great!

There should be a metal plate on it with the serial numbers. Other than that I'm not sure where else it would be marked unless there is some type of numbering on the tree. I do not have mine in front of me, but I believe the stirrup leathers actually hook to a ring which is held on with nylon so that maybe the part that is broken. I would believe that would be an easy fix for any saddle repair shop.

I had a 2006 Circle Y Marlene. Had the red and silver plate under the swell area, under the jockey flap.

Picture added. Black strap broken on both sides. Almost looks like it is wrapped in duct tape.
I have looked in all of those places and all flaps for a serial. Not a single one have a metal plate, stamped, or printed anywhere! I'm also certain it is a Marlene as it says so on the latigo holder LOL. Im at a loss. If I call Circle Y, would they be able to help me without a number?

My saddle had the stirrup leathers lined with the nylon. I wonder if the stirrup leathers were replaced in this saddle, leaving the nylon hanging up there? Those leathers also do not match how mine were, so I bet those are replacement leathers. Instead of removing the nylon backing from its attachment point, maybe they just cut them off up there?

That flap that covers your cinch ring also looks to be a replacement. I bet that's why you have no plate on there. Maybe the silver and red plate was on that plate. I can't remember exactly where the plate was located/attached other than it was under the swell area. Also, the leather flap on my saddle (my saddle was fully tooled) was also tooled. This one is not.

They appear to be original as they are stamped with the Marlene logo by Circle Y on the fenders. My main concern is if these have anything to do with the mechanics and safety of the saddle.
I just wish I could find a number somewhere so I could put some pieces together before I buy it....if I do anymore.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't buy it. Even if it's a good deal, if you go to sell it, you'll have a hard time because buyers will try to find out the same info you are doing here.

I would not be buying this saddle, I would move on and find one in better condition.

Ya I'm going to pass. It'd probably be quite a bit to send this in for repairs, if they could repair it at all. Such a bummer as it's exactly what I'm looking for but safety comes first.  Thanks for all of the input! Yall are always helpful.
