another has been - 2018-12-15 8:57 AM bluerose2001 - 2018-12-14 11:47 PM What is "Numbering". Kind of like- you arrive, unload your stuff, put horse in stall, go find you a parking place if you run a generator. Regular members then on the day they arrive or the day before their first run have to walk their horse and take horse paperwork to a check in station and receive a number to wear on the pad or the rider? If you have multiple horses just carry each one individually? Once you unload your stuff and park your trailer you will take your horse, coggins and health papers ( out of state horses ) to the designated areas and you Check in- they will put painted numbers on your horses hips. If during the show you ha e washed or number has faded you will need to have it repainted. Your horse must be um weed before you make a run.
All horses, not just out of state horses, must have a health paper along with a current coggins when they check in. If for some reason you bring along a horse that is not entered, they are also checked in and marked with an X.
Gold Card horses were also marked X last year. |

Location: Nebraska | SC Wrangler - 2018-12-12 10:44 AM I think the fair grounds will find a way to provide a third arena while the coliesum is demolished and replaced. There is really not another facility with three pens, and enough stalls and rv parking to accomodate the BBR finals.
It would be really cool if they could bring it to Lincoln after they finish the construction for the high school finals. They’re adding a bunch of stalls, rv spots, and a big outdoor arena. |

Location: Oklahoma | It is a lot of fun. And a lot of work. The stalls are on concrete. Lots of parking but MUST MUST MUST lock things up. Be prepared for the weather to change from day to day. Rain gear, rubber boots and jackets are needed. Make sure your horses are healthy. The haul and that many horses always seems to bring the sickness out.
I live about 45 from there. its a fun race and pays well. |

Location: Oklahoma City OK | EagleJess - 2018-12-11 6:07 PM another has been - 2018-12-11 3:48 PM BBR will be at OKC. I was told they are NOT moving to Lazy E. Boy that would be a night mare if they did! We have been lots of times to the finals. lots of walking or bring a golf cart - they may have some there to rent, not sure. Lots of vendors. They have the new RV lot completed and it is really nice plus it has free wifi. As for stalls, yes the are on concrete, you can rent stall pads, bring your own or lots of shavings. You do have to have your horse numbered I think they number daily so no worries there, but normally you just go to horse check in with your coggins and health papers (if not from OK) and they are pretty organized you just go there and get numbered. Office staff have always been great if you have any questions. Also, plan on several seasons within the week! It could be cold one day and hot the next - or storming... normal Ok weather! lol Do you know where they will move when Jim Norick gets renovated/torn down? I have heard it's a definite thing but I haven't been able to find a timeline. I figured it would be the Lazy E since its in the same general area and that seems to be the arena everyone else shifted to.
The new huge fantastic arena will not be started for several years, I've been told....probably between 3 - 5 years and I've been told that the Jim Norick will be useable until the new arena is ready to use, so no break or disruption in available arenas. Last I heard, the BBR was still scheduled to be at State Fair Park. |

| I have gone the last couple years. I'm a gold card member so it makes the numbering not an issue and then also during the shoot-outs we can go up there and eat...
As far as parking we park at a RV Park off grounds. It has full hook ups, tornado shelter and hot tub! Its just a couple miles from the arena.
I'm pretty excited about going this next time.. You meet people from all over. |
