Kylie Weast’s grandmother, Florence Youree, qualified for the first NFR in 1960. Her mother qualified for the NFR the first year it was held in Las Vegas. She has grown up in the rodeo world. There is a lot of pressure on horses and riders— in any event—-having to perform 10 days straight. I was so happy to see her win round 10. She certainly deserved it. And her sister qualified 3 times and won the average and the world in 2003. Awesome family and all three granddaughters are badass. I really like that little horse, I was happy to see them come up with a plan to make it work and smoke a run! We met her folks last year in Fort Worth at Cattleman’s while we were in the bar waiting on a table during the American - super nice family and had a great time chatting with them.
Kylie's horse is by JL Dash Ta Heaven which is a son of her sister's great NFR horse. Keeping it in the family. |

Location: Adopt a homeless pet - www.petfinder.com! | I hadn't seen Kylie's mare run before the NFR. WOW! She was so aggressive on the pattern! Kylie is a hand and half. I couldn't ride a horse like that in my wildest dreams. They were exciting to watch and we looked forward to seeing them run every night. #firebreathingdragon |

| I was excited to see Reddy back. I didn't know anything about them until the NFR but you could see the talent and try. I was happy to see them come out for a round win!!! |

Yes - the powers that be will tell a barrel racer to get off a horse that can become a danger in the alley way to herself or others. It happend to someone in 1992. They had to go on their backup horse the rest of the NFR. This was directly from the person it happened to.
If I remember correctly, when they first moved the NFR to Vegas they actually ran in and out the same alley way, but there was a pretty bad wreck up at the top (the horse coming out ran into one at the top) and that is when they moved it to coming in that gate.Â
Oh really, the whole NFR? Hopefully that's not the case, that little red horse can really mix things up!
Toni/Tony Hagen was the one with problems in the ally, in 1992. They quickly escalated. Her last attempt made my heart skip 7 beats. |

Since you brought this up, I remember how Twisted Sister was a nightmare in the ally. She scared the heck out of me when it was her turn Â
I thought (this is how rumors got started ) Sydney had to get off of her until the last round after she was so bad in the alley. Last round she was the last one and they had her blocked off from everyone else. It's been so long I might've made that up.
I'd have to double check my notes on my old computer (or rewatch the videos on YT) to say for sure, but I'm pretty sure she only ran Twisted Sister in Round 1. I remember seeing her get led out of the alley in a later round (maybe round 2) after she presumably got a little too wild waiting in the lineup. I think Sydni rode Clancy for the other 9 rounds. |

I believe Sydni was having some health issues that year and said that Twisted Sister just hurt her to much to ride as she got a little to wound up in the alley. |
