Blanket Straps

Good morning all! I would like your guys' input on this...so the other day when I was at the horse barn, someone asked me why I don't cross my hind leg straps on my blankets. I then learned that there are apparently 3 different ways you can do leg straps? Around each individual leg
(which is what I do
), cross the straps, or cross and loop around the other strap. Which is the correct way? I only learned about going around the leg on the same side of the blanket. Thanks!

I've done it all three ways. The most successful, as in holding the blanket more or less in place, is around each leg seperately but crossing one through the other. But I don't think there is a right or wrong way. And I do think some horses are heck bent to destroy their blanket no matter how you put it on, and some you could forget to do the leg straps and they'll have no problems!

Don't think there is a "right" way, whatever works. I happen to cross mine, guess thats just how I learned to do it.

I used to criss cross mine but then read somewhere that the safest way way around each leg but to cross them thru each other. The reason why didn't make total sense but I've been doing it that way for all this winter...
