I thought I understood wildcards as a bypass to qualification that you sent in with your entry. From what I understood, my friend bought a wildcard because she didn’t qualify and she’s going to yth worlds with it but I was reading the latest barrel horse news and found her name in the youth qualifiers list. How could her name have gotten on the qualifiers list if she hasn’t actually “qualified”? Am I mistaken about the way wildcards work or is there some loop hole I don’t know about to qualify lol.
Basically if you qualified, you don’t need a wild card
if she was on the list she needs to contact her district director for an explanation. maybe she didnt get a year end award but they gave them out as all youth.... for youth world the directors have to turn in youth and teens for qualifiers.
Contact your district director. If I’m not mistaken they take 10 in each D now so she may have qualified and you just didn’t know it.

Yeah, we had a lot of people year before last not realize they qualified in Open because they take top 10 in a 5D format, while our points & awards only run 1-5th place in the 4D format. So 50 people in each district now are qualified to go. Nobody was aware it had changed so a lot of people qualified and didn't know. It's possible this is what happened to this girl, she just didn't realize she qualified and no one told her. My district doesn't tell you that you qualified, you only find out when you get the card in the mail.
I think the number that qualify for each district is based on the number of members in that district.
