| A good everyday saddle for feet forward and butt down?! I’m not sure if it’s because I have some extra junk in the trunk or what lol but I seem to pop up in the saddle more often that I prefer. I have been working on it. Posting more is helping. I used to have a super good seat but after having a kid and time off I seem to have lost my good seat a little! I used to be able to sit a stay centered on anything. And I’m so bummed about it but I’m determined to get it back ?? im thinking of getting a good cutter or ranch cutter to help. What do you guys think?

Location: Kansas | I like for my feet to be slightly in front of me rather than directly under me. I bought a wide Teskey's saddle to try on my horse, and the girl I bought it from didn't know much, so she never mentioned that the stirrups were forward hung, but I LOVE the thing! If you already have a saddle that you like, maybe you could take it to a saddle shop and have them rehang the stirrups. |

Location: Texas | The Martin BTR is designed to keep your feet forward with a secure seat feel. The Martin Stingray has your feet forward, but a little less forward but still a secure seat feel. I LOVE my Stingray. I can move and don't feel trapped, but I feel very balanced and secure. I haven't ridden the BTR, but my friend has one and loves it. Martin saddles all have what's called SPRS (Stirrup position Rig Slot) that keep your feet at a point that is balanced., Your legs at your knees are your balance point and keep your upper body from tipping forward or backward. The SPRS doesn't restrict movement by any means, but it's like a balance point that your feet will come back to. Definitely an innovative, awesome design that's paired with Martin's top-notch quality leather which makes me a huge fan. |

| Make sure you aren’t riding a seat that is too small. I like to have 2-3 finger widths of room between my thigh and the pommel of the saddle. This gives you room to actually move your feet forward and stay down. Less room and you may end up sliding into the pommel and pivoting - sending your upper body forward onto the neck and your feet back behind you. |

| I love my Josey saddle. It has forward hung stirrups. For a cheaper approach——-try changing the length of your stirrups. |

Ditto. It's the most secure feeling saddle I've had :) |

| Of all the saddles I've rode/ran in, nothing kept my feet in a better position than the Martha Josey. |

Location: Tuttle Oklahoma | I would recommend the Martin FX 3 for a deep seat and feet forward feel. The Martha Josey gives a deep seat with high secure swells but the fx3 will sit you more back on your pockets and has a more aggressive swell that you can get your leg up under. The stingray offers almost the same swell but also sits you more center in the seat. I don't care for the front swells on the deb Sibley's because they lean away from you. |

| I agree with one poster, double check that the seat is not too small. After having a baby, I thought that I had lost my balance and could no longer ride worth anything-getting thrown forward and feet behind me. Went from a 14 to a 14.5 and it made a world of difference. |
