My horse is one that doesn’t show signs of anxiety much other than she tends to get the runs when we haul out. I am wondering if there is something I could give that would help calm her tummy when we are going to run. She’s already on NFR2 and chia seeds, and grain has a probiotic in it.

I started taking a tablespoon of hemp oil daily and I am absolutely amazed at how much its eased my anxiety. I'm going to start giving my 1 horse a dose because he worries himself crazy sometimes! Hopefully itll have the same results on him as it does on me!

Always give access to hay and water. A few Tums will help. Keep it simple.

I second this! Tried taking my gelding off of it to see exactly what it was doing, and he's like a cow again. So back on we go!

I've had good results with Purina Outlast.  I feed one cup daily and when I go to a barrel race I feed an extra cup at home.  I also like to feed it as a snack when I saddle at the race.  If I am at a 3 day race he will get extra at all feedings.

This is what I normally would do however several of the arenas around here have recently gone to no hay on their grounds whatsoever. You can put your horse in the trailer and feed but it’s a pain and when it’s hot out it’s a concern. It’s frustrating for sure.

Zesterra. I give it when I saddle, but if I have one that gets anxious or runs when stalled I give, 10CC in the morning and 10CC at night. It helps a ton!

Gastro-Plex Paste by MVP. My mare only seems to have anxiety when hauled and she too gets loose stool coming off the trailer. This has helped keep her tummy settled, given 1 hour prior to hauling and will give a second dose when I get to where I am going.

I like cbd pellets from kahm or oxygen relax - depending on what I’m going to sometimes both... I also use the Nrf2 and love it but for bad anxiety it only helps with the results of the anxiety not so much the anxiety itself if that makes sense. I give cbd and relax about 1-2 hours prior to hauling sometimes just as I load in the trailer if I don’t have time beforehand and it really seems to help.

Gastrogard in the morning if hauling to a day jackpot.

Gastrogard for a few days leading up to leaving for a multiple day event, while there and a few days after coming home.   Can't remember the exact dose - like an inch on the tube :) lol

Constant Hay access

I will offer Zesterra as well day of run.

He could not care less to outside observation but I do bring a buddy where possible too.

I've started my barn in Redmond Gold Stress and seeing a big difference. Overall they seem more content, less cinchy and less anxious.
