Anyone ever use one? Reviews?

Finally had a chance to get my horse scoped after a run this past weekend. Hes a known cougher whether you are loping around or sometimes just walking. Its not all the time either. Some days he coughs riding around sometimes not, sometimes when you run other times not. So being proactive i wanted to have him scoped in case he was bleeding. Saw a few drops of blood, but hes got a ton (looked like a river) of mucous and inflammation. Vet did say he would be prone to bleeding since theres so much inflammation. The plan of treatment is to put him on antibiotics and steriods and then get albuterol and use the aerohippus mask 2x starting 2 days before a show going till after.  I had never heard of this brand before (always equi-resp and the like) and was just wanting to see if anyone else has ever used it.

Sorry no  help with this brand of mask but we have the Silver Care one that is pretty affordable and really see good results with it.  My friend has a gelding that does exactly like yours. On again off again cough I cannot remember which brand she bought but she has seen some results.

Hi,

I used the aerohippus inhaler a few years ago with great success. It was recommended by a vet from the University of Alberta in Calgary after my mare was part of a bleeder study.

Very easy to use, the only downside was the inhalers were expensive.  But I suppose when compared to the cost of the Nebulizers themselves not so bad, particularly if you aren't sure that your horse has a long term issue.

Thank you so much!! This is what was recommended by my vet with albuterol (from an outside pharmacy) hoping it helps him a ton

Buy the aerochamber plus z stat mask instead! The blue adult size is the same as the equine one! You only cover one nostal when you use the equine or the people one.  It is only 25 dollars compared to 95.  I use it for my horse with his inhaler.

Thank you for this!! I will save it for future use or maybe get as a backup. I had already ordered the aerohippus one as soon as my vet told me which one. Waiting on inhaler and dex to be able to start antibiotics and dex and then give him inhaler before runs

I have the aerohippus I purchased for a mare with heaves. She received albuterol. I found the weed she was allergic to in my pasture and then no more heaves. Worked great though. Different delivery than the new silver masks of course. Easy to use.
