Location: Kansas | Has anyone in the past week noticed a huge change in the quality of their color? I had wonderful color and picture quality then suddenly everything went gray, brown, yellow and weird. There are black borders like a frame across the tops and sides of some channels. Glow sometimes on faces and it hurts your eyes. I called Direct TV last night, always an adventure in aggravation, and got nowhere as usual. They're sending a technician out blaming it on our receivers but since AT&T took over we've lost two channels and now this. |

| Ours is still good, sounds like it might be in your picture ratio settings. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | We have had Direct TV for years, yes this happen to one of our TV's and the reason was because the TV was going out replaced the TV and it was all good once again. So it could be your TV or maybe receiver. |

Location: Kansas | No we have two TV's and both went weird on us. I turned to a local station to watch The Big Bang Theory last Thursday and faces were gray, walls were gray and every other color was dull. Every channel is a little different. Where I can't see where it could be the TV is the borders around all the shows that aren't HD and even some that are HD. On 364 there's a full frame around shows like Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Others the border (about 4 inches) is across the top and bottom of the screen and squashes the picture. Night MLB games (love my Giants) sometimes have players with glowing faces. Drives me beserk. Thanks for your replies. I'm relieved there is hope. |

Go into your tv picture size setting and see if you can play with it. That is where we have to take out the top and bottom borders for ours. |

I'll do some experimenting. Thanks. |

Sounds like you have a cable going bad. Possibly from the satellite to the TV or if they are connected, between the two. My grandma has trouble sometimes on Dish, but it's the connections, not the Satellite. I've never had trouble with DTV. It's always been the TV or the cables. |

The people from Direct TV (who are sending a tech out next week) mentioned something about cables so there's a possibility. It's going to be a long wait. As it is it just fries your eyeballs. |
