so I'm obviously a bit bored like I'm sure others are. I'm trying to figure out color possibilities for my 2021 baby (hopefully) mare is black, stallion is red roan (sanman)

I'm not good at this stuff, are there some good websites that might help me out? It makes no difference what color she is as long as she is healthy but I am curious of the possibilities...I have specifically put my request in for a filly though, that is non-negoti able!!

thanks for the help!

Thank you so much, I'm glad someone else knows who he is!!! I'm hoping he compliments my mare well, with her I feel like she almost needs to be crossed with "cow". I love the run, cutter/cross and hope this pans out good, I know it's all a crap shoot!

Assuming your mare is true black and not brown based, here's a pretty generic idea of what you can end up with! Last year, mine had a 3% chance of having palomino, and that's what she had. So you neverOffspring Color Probability

18.75% -
Bay
18.75% -
Blue Roan
18.75% -
Black
18.75% -
Bay Roan
12.50% -
Red Roan

Off topic with color, but have you looked at Thomas E. Hughes? He is on my list for future breedings. a friend that trains rose him as a 2 yr old and says all of his babies are great too. He said they are very well minded and easy to train.

We have a Sannman.  She is doing great in the pen.  Thomas E Huges is something to see in person, but so is Sanman.  Sometimes it is spin the bottle and pick which one is best.  Paul did a great job with Sannman and Austin did a great job with TEH.  Both nice stallions.

Oh that is so good to hear!! send me a pick of your sanman if you get a chance, I'd LOVE to see him! I actually bought a bamacat mare from Austin as a 3yr old, she is the most well minded thing, Roy C told me Austin is a large part of those horses having a good demeanor/attitude...I love that mare but have wondered if all bamacats have that trait or if that was just her foundation?  I would love to see them in person!
