I am in Oklahoma  Is there any associations for pole bending in my area?  I am not youth   I have always loved poles and never concentrated on it like barrels bc I knew after Jr. rodeos there wasnt really any poles for the older people that I knew of.  The barrel bash is having a pole challenge that Im really excited bout! but I cant find anywhere that has poles for my age group.  I was even going to go to playdays but the one that I can go to doesnt have my age group and wont let me exhibition.

I thought if we do pretty good on the poles I would like to continue but not sure where there be places to go to.  Does anyone know  Besides AQHA shows.  tho I am going to check on those.

well cant find anything on AQHA either.

You see pole bending at a few jackpots here and there in Texas, but infortunately there just isn't a heck of a lot of interest.  It seems to me that the area of the country where there's the most interest is in states like Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.  It's too bad, because I love poles even more than barrels.

The ANHA shootout in Waco runs poles along with their big barrel race every year. It's usually Labor Day weekend.  It's divisional too but not sure of the breakdown? I know I wish more places ran poles too. If you love anywhere near Marshall Tx Longhorn Barrels and Poles is an association that does both also all year.

Im between OKC and Tulsa   I knew it was gonna be hard but was hoping I was wrong!  I guess it is too time consuming to setup   The pole challenge for me is gonna definetly be a challenge! lol

Meeker, Chandler, Prague, Perkins have local riding clubs, and I believe they are members of OSRCA.

Bristow & Kellyville also have clubs.

My mare loves poles more than barrels for sure (and honestly so do I), and I have a hard time finding races with them as well :( Fingers crossed that maybe you'll find something!

Looking at the NPBA website, it doesn't look like there is a state rep. NPBA has exploded in my area, southern IN. A lot of shows have quite a bit of money added in open poles and pole horses sell like hot cakes. There are a lot of members that travel down your way for big shows during the summer. If there is interest in your area go ahead and get ahold of Steve Thomas through email on www.polebending.org

Go to the State Shows and Points tab for the state map of reps.
