Am I seeing this right? Been outside all day and came in to cool off and I see on the TV Guide that the Belmont runs today. 

Yes .... it is running today!

Tiz the Law.  Looked like a field that didn't fit his caliber.  Everything looks weird without all the celebration and glitz.

Did anyone else notice that EVERY stable hand, handler, trainer, track officials and even jockeys were wearing masks !!!!

They don't have a choice.  It's mandatory. 

uggg.... this mask thing needs to go away but Im afraid there too many stupid people that outnumber us!  the ropings, barrel racing, and rodeos I been to no one has been wearing them! they are local and open rodeos.  At work we also dont have a choice! I work in the vault by myself and I may see someone bout every 3-4 hours and there a window between me and them and still its mandatory! Im not even around anyone but the breakroom we can take off thank goodness but we around ea other in there.  and we cant use the refrig and microwave in our breakroom!  They are saying the masks are now part of our uniform  and the crazy thing is our customers will get a mask at the door and wear on their chins!  Its not required for customers to wear masks but they will get them and wear under their chins.  Crazy   sorry this supposed to be bout the race  I guess at least they having races. 

Belmont was ran at 1 1/8 mile instead of the normal 1 1/2 mile 

Dumbest move ever since all the horses were fresh to run the full distance vs a normal year of this race coming just weeks after running the Derby and Preakness ....now they have this odd ball race cluttering up their record books ..  This short race was almost the same as Secretariat running 1 1/2 miles .. he would have been 3/8's of a mile in front .. lol 

Anyway .. a horse race is a horse race ...  

Take note as they hit the straightaway  Tis The Law jockey working his hands 2-3 times to get his horse to change to the right lead and freshen up his horses stride ...

I think most of the jockeys went to sleep due to the big round oval track instead of the normal sharper turns oval of the Derby and Preakness 

The other 4 visible horse's jockeys did not change leads and they fell back instantly ... 

Watch for the 2nd place horse in Green is 6 wide coming around the turn and his jockey changes leads and Dr Post comes to the front of the pack but was running out of air and did not challenge Tiz The Law ..

Here is another interesting thing on the charts ...  2nd horse was 7.9/1 odds and betters did not figure him into the exactas and bet on other horses ... the POOL CARRYOVER IS GIGANTIC ...  6.5 TO 3.6 MILLION in the first three exacta betting ...   

ALSO . weight M/E .. all horses were on lasix, 2 with blinkers and one with wraps on front legs ... so it was a pretty sound bunch of horses running ..

I noticed how they were all trying to stay in the middle of the track which is obviously deep and sandy. Since they work the youngsters on the rails when they gallop I imagine it is really deep.  

Also I heard that all the horses in the race were decedants of Secretariat.  Just what I heard.

On one hand I get why they ran it at the 1 1/8 or 9 furlong distance...but for me, it no longer was the Belmont either.  It made it just another race. So weird to see them start on the back stretch.  Definitly and * asterik year for the Triple Crown :-(

Really sad that the changed the distance and that COVID has really messed with the Triple Crown this year, but super happy for Tiz the Law!
