Ok I'm not sure what I'm going to do for sure.  But if you was looking for a barrel prospect but not started on barrels but want one thats just broke and has a handle do you look at people who break horses or is their a fb page/website just for these types of horses?

or would you just do word of mouth? and hope one pops up?

I dont want a horse now, got to much going on! just wondering for when I do get ready. 

and what would be the price range of these types of horses?  I know it depends on how bad they want to sell, and bloodlines just asking ballpark...

I'd say just keep looking here and on facebook for what catches your eye. If you're looking for a well bred prospect, started with a good handle that is going to be more in demand than if you find one that's a little behind maybe that just needs some miles, tlc or has a quirk. You just have to decide what you will and wont tolerate for your budget. As you well know you can literally spend as much as you want for a prospect these days depending on which incentives and whatnot they are in. In my opinion you can get a decent prospect "balling on a budget" for around 5 (?) enrolled in some incentives and at least green broke. You just HAVE to stay on top of it and know what you want (or at least know what you dont want, lol). If you are patient and keep saving those pennies you will find something for sure. Also get with trainers in your area and put some feelers. The more eyes looking for you the better. Be honest with yourself about how much you're willing to spend on the purchase of the horse, training, and how long will it be before this said prospect is running? Good luck in your search and dont get disappointed when what you want doesnt pop up right away. They are out there!!

I will be training myself.  I can get one to work.  my problem is once they start working to ask for more  I have a tendency to take them too long slow! lol but I got friends to tell me to go faster!  Ive never shopped for one.  Ive always taken on what ever falls into my lap.  and problem is I love all horses! lol

Being on the sidelines as long as I have Ive got patience! lol

I know I posted on here but I really dont want anyone knowing Im kinda looking bc then you get all kinds of horses thrown out at ya that doesnt match what your looking for and price range.  I've seen it done to my friend!

Oh I 100% know that feeling. Back when I was looking for a prospect everyone started throwing all kinds of stuff at me from weanlings to finished open horses because their friends, sisters, trainers daughters boyfriend has a horse and it would be "perfect" for me but it's grade, a mare, shorter and older than you want and double the price. Then they get mad when you're not interested haha. 

I really do believe everything works out for a reason so you'll find something, and we all also know that it will go to a great home after everything with your KS horse.

YOu live around so many great stallions I would call and talk to them and see if they have anything that fits the bill....................or go through a broker..........;)

The last time I bought a horse was the first time I actually shopped and didn't buy the first one I saw lol. I was in no rush where as the others I needed a horse ASAP or didn't care to shop more. I kept it pretty quiet too. I looked at what friends had, which some I liked until I tried them and didn't feel it was a good fit. I just asked them privately to try and we didn't make a fuss about it. I found one on here I wanted to look at, ended up trying him and didn't like him at all. Asked if they had anything else in my budget, said I was flexible on how started they were if it was the right horse. They ended up having the mare I bought and that was it. So if you do find one you like enough to go look at, do ask them what else they might have as well. You might find one you like better that you didn't know about
