| My mare has been on iit DAILY , 365 days a year since 2016!!! LOL She has super hard heats and very painful. SHe doesn't take the winter off like most mares do, she cycles hard 12 months out of the year. I started her at the 10cc daily dose and have got to where I can maintain her on 5-7cc daily. When I travel she gets full 10. Its about 250.00 a bottle of 1000cc It lasts me about 3.5 months. There is another generic that works just as well called ALTREN. Its 190 for same size bottle. MOST mares only need it when they start to come in heat and during spring/summer. Not my princess but she is so worth it and pain FREE> Regumate is an ORAL product. Squirt it in their mouth. Just make sure you wear gloves, it will mess up a human female pretty bad if you get it on your skin.

How bad is your mare without it? I am trying to decide if mine really needs it. |

Her heats are so bad she leans on panels and squirts on everything and everyone who walks behind her. LOL But she is an NFR caliber horse so she gets what she wants! LOL |

Location: California | Altenogest injectable from BET Pharm is $270 shipped for 7 doses. Each dose lasts 12 days. Well worth the money. You do need a prescription as well but this pharmacy in particular is easy to work with! |

Talked to my vet about this and she said it can make mares pretty sore and she does not advise it for performance horses. Pasture horses yes. And she also said first 7 days it's strongest and last 4 it's getting weaker. It's best to give daily to maintain levels. |

I never had that issue with my mare but she is gritty as can be. |

I've seen that too with compounded injectable alternatives. |

If you can get a 1000ml bottle of Regumate for $100 your vet is literally losing money on it because it costs more than that for us to buy it. That's a pretty dang good price. And it lasts you 3.5 months if you give 10ml once a day. |

No he meant $100 a month so it must be pretty expensive through them, I can't do $100 a month but I found a 1000 ml bottle on sites like petmed and chewy however for $150. That is way more doable if it lasts about 3 months or so. |
