Hey all!
I'm looking into purchasing a weanling filly sired by Alone Drifter and out of a Dinero daughter. I have big aspirations of doing pro rodeo and running at the NFR after college on the filly I buy this year. What do y'all think of Alone drifter?
what do you think of his cross on a Dinero mare?
Will this subsequent filly, based of papers, (I know I have a lot of training and riding ahead of me) be able to not only keep up, but blow away the competition?
I want to hear everything you have on this horse and what you think!!
Thank you!!
My mare is by PC Joes Frost and out of a Lone Drifter Daughter... so not the same but close. She was the easiest and most athletic horse I have ever tried. Honest, gritty and consistent. We just finished up her 6 year old year and she was consitently bottom of 1D all year, snuck up into top a few races but I have not "asked" much. She naturally has that factor. The most quiet mare... nothing phases her. Ran her in her first perf her 5 year old year (9th run ever).
However, she likes to work... she gets bored and hates to just "ride." Favorite horse to run, least favorite to ride around LOL. She just is a lazy pain to exercise. All business when you set her in front of a pattern. I would buy this cross 200x over again.
That's great to hear. As far as this filly being sired by alone drifter and out of a dinero mare, do you think personally that's too much line breeding? It seems like a little much, but I don't know. I would love a horse bred like this but she's the only one I can find around my price range.

I am not a huge fan of line breeding but I know its very common in the Sun Frost lines. I have talked to T4 Ranch and they have many linebred and speak highly. My friend has one and the horse is NICE...
We stand a son of Lone Drifter also that is out of a Sun Frost mare and have crossed him back on Sun Frost daughters and grand daughters and have loved the results.
