So we just got home from the Patriot and had the pleasure of staying in the 'Generator Lot' for 6 days. I'm glad we did and loved that we were 'onsite'. The parking lot was a complete trainwreck but we lucked out in where we were parked, between two curbs, that no one could block us in or park on top of us. We were walking distance to the stalls if need be and right next to the exit. This was the first time I've stayed that long without power or water connections. I learned some things and am wondering about some others. Like... How many gallons of gas does your generator burn in a day? How many gallons does yor tank hold? Thankfully I had put a 5 gallon gas can in the truck but dang... I had to refill it about every 20 hours. Next time I'll bring more gas cans. How many showers do you usually get before you run out of fresh water or fill up the grey water tank? In my motorhome, three females and a male could take showers nearly every day (not wash hair every day) for about 4 days. It was just two females this time and we ran out of water on the 6th morning. How many days do you usually last before you fill up the black tank? We were ultra careful and made it the whole trip. How do you know how much propane you have left? I've been told the gauges you can add to fitting don't really work all that great. Do any of the gauges actually work on any of the tanks? My panel inside has said my grey and black tanks are full most of the time and I know I've emptied them repeatedly. My motorhome used to do this too so I know not to really believe what they say. What are some tips I need to know before I do this again? |
