| What are your go to excercises and supplements for the topline? My gelding has shark fin withers pretty bad and as he is getting older his topline especially behind the withers could use some help. Edit: I do belly lifts and butt tucks but I probably don't do it enough. How many and how often do you do those?

| I've had good luck with several topline supplements. I've had to switch them up because my picky eater decides he doesn't want to eat them anymore. THE Muscle Mass MVP 6 Way Currently using Purina Super Sport amino acid supplement. All have kept his topline functional. He's 27 this year. |

THE Muscle Mass
MVP 6 Way
Currently using Purina Super Sport amino acid supplement.
All have kept his topline functional. He's 27 this year.
The Exceed 6-Way by MVP is a good choice as it offers muscle support, but an even better choice in this case would be the In-Sync as it has higher levels of amino acids and other ingredients for muscle function. |

| I have an older horse and honestly I took her off all supplements except her ulcer meds from Abler and just enough feed to put it in, then turned her out on a full fescue bermuda mixed pasture. I started doing a lot of collected trotting on her and her topline is looking amazing. Abs are tight and tucked which was the target to get that topline raised and full. |

| I will add that collected riding is super helpful and important. Not just tucking in their nose and going forward, but engaging their hind end. |

Boy, ain't that the truth. I'm starting to realize a balanced diet and quality exercise is key. I don't know if there is a supplement out there that can replace just that. |

Exactly!!! I have gotton a few horses that their top line was not so great, boney and a bit under weight, put them on a good diet and bingo they but on the weight they needed, super shiny with muscle built up. No supplements added at that time didnt want to over load their system. |

| And of course, a good fitting saddle. Balanced diet, good forage, fresh water, go a very long way. I got this little horse for my daughter, he's been here maybe a month and a half... he looked poor... he was poor .. never had teeth done, was full of parasites, had rain rot and just overly BLAH ... I tend to end up with these types because I'm a fixer lol! But I'm going to tell yall, he's been such a great horse for her. We got him here, dewormed him, got his teeth done, sheath, the works done... and I just fed him good feed, hay and very fresh water.. gave him a mineral bucket and he's night n day right now. We discovered white line so we are treating him accordingly. But he had zero topline when we started. I was very tempted to throw a bunch of supplements to him but I've managed not to go overboard and just make sure he has extra aminos added in on top of his rations. And she rides him daily... lightly... its done wonders! |
