| I posted few weeks ago about my laminitic horse. Many ups and downs along the way !! Good days, bad days, frustrating days , just rode the wave. Last week he started to really stabilize and improve little by little , I could hand walk 100 yards or so and ge would just shuffle along and was improving , but by no means sound. Lol Well............. saturday I picked up a new colt and as soon as I pulled in the driveway Mr Laminitis horse was PRANCING back and forth in his pen sound as a dollar. Lol. Then by the time colt was unloaded , Mr Laminitis was loping circles both directions , stopping and turning , loping back the other direction lol. I thought well, he is going to pay dearly for that tomorrow. Hopefully he will even be able to get up let alone walk. Lol.
He has been JUST FINE!!!!! Did not take any steps back , in fact ge is more sound now than ever before. LF foot is completely sound from what I can tell RF is a little off but Not even remotely like it was even a week ago. When I hand walk him now he trots next to me. Like he is a different horse.
called vet over weekend to see if there is something I should do, icing , etc. she said NOPE, let him be a horse, if he needs to rest , he will she said exercise will increase blood flow and encourage healing. She has always told me to have a bedded area if he needs it but feel free to let him move around. Just had to share!
