Cool, rainy weather this week kept us inside more and got my mind curious: Who's had Cash Not Credit horses? What were they like? I have a daughter who is 21 and her daughter that's 5.

The 21 year old is very professional. She's not much of a snuggler, but a hard worker. She was successful, and didn't retire until she was 20, and only then because she was bone-on-bone in her hock. She's currently in foal to YQH Frenchman Fly. I didn't get this mare until she was 18, so it's to tell how much of her training and attitude were "man-made" vs genetically predisposed.

The 5 year old (gdaughter of CNC) is extremely athletic. She's incredibly light and soft. She's also very hard working, but on the ground she's a complete lover and moseyes around like a toe dragging sloth, until she needs someone to move, then she's a dragon.

These two are so much alike, both in looks and riding, it's scary. They are weird, anc I definitely don't think they are everyone's cup of tea.

So, is the quirky athleticism from CNC or from somewhere else? What's your experience?

That's awesome! I really thought it might just be me. ?? I rarely see CNC's listed in the "Magic Crosses" reports, but Jud sure loved them for maternal lines.

I used to own a daughter of CNC. She had an attitude but she was only a broodmare. I raised 3 babies out of her: 2 by Ima Firefighter and 1 by Judge Cash. I still own the Judge Cash. She injured herself as a youngster so she was never started. She has some of her dam's attitude. 1 of the son's of Ima Firefighter has had a very successful career.

My mare is currently in foal to Sun Frosted Rocket and I have her booked to Ima Firefighter for next year.

I owned a gelding by CNC for a while. He was a little standoffish and not completely mentally sound but I didn't own him as a baby. I'm not sure of his handling before I got him. He could be pretty nervous but he had a good work ethic.

My geldings dam Shebe Firin For Cash is a daughter of CNC.  She was one of the horses Kassie Mowery rode in 2005 to qualify for the NFR.

Had a mare that was all mare attitude but she was tough as nails and loved to work.  Stayed in the 1D well into her teens.  Had a gelding that was a sweetie pie.  He was a solid workng horse but never offered any speed on his own which he had plenty of.  Consistently in the 3D.  I would never hesitate to get another.
