Today is
6 months ago I posted pics of my good horses X-rays. Significant rotation in both front feet and very close to the coffin bone coming out the bottom of his front feet. All caused by a reaction to steroids in hock injections. At one point I wanted him put down because he was so painful. It will be 6 months tomorrow but I ran him yesterday at his first barrel race since it all happened. Made a super nice run just out of the money and he felt great!!! He still has about 3/4" of old foot to grow out but the new foot looks amazing !!! Just wanted to share my update. Laminitis / founder is not a career ending death sentence if your willing to put in the work to get them over it.
Glad your horse is better. I started feeding TRI AMINO to improve a top line. Farrier said woo your hoses feet look great. What are you feeding? I is not real expensive. Like $37 for 120 servings.

Mine gets unlimited teff grass hay, handful of alfalfa twice a day. He is on renew gold with horseguard mega dose for vitamin /minerals. I did consult with dr Schell at curost and he makes a special blend for feet so we started that 2 weeks ago. But that's it !
I think it's nothing short of amazing that in just 6 months time he's back to running. I saw the videos of how bad he was, it hurt to watch. Having lost a nice horse to the dreaded laminitis, I think it's incredible what you were able to accomplish! It's not something that I hear about all the time, the success stories are few between. I'm happy for him and you! I know how hard you worked 24/7 to help get him better. Congratulations! That run was NICE! he looked happy to be at it again.
That's wonderful. You rarely hear good stories about founder.
SO Happy for you Great job !
