My mare is almost 5 and i have recently started working her and running her more. My saddle was making her extremely sore so after seeing the chiropractor and consulting with a saddle rep I bought a new saddle (switched from a cervi martin to a prolite with a smaller gullet). I rode her in it yesterday for the first time just exercise and then ran today. She didn't act sore at all like she was before (bucking and trying to bolt out from under me). Now i am paranoid and want to do anything I can to help her and prevent soreness (even though i truly feel like we have a good match with this saddle).

I know magnetic blankets used to be big but i don't know if they still are. Do they help? Does brand matter? Are they a waste of money? is there something else better out there now? Educate me please.

Pic of my girl sporting her new prolite. Black would not have been my choice at all but i was desperate to help her and they sell fast so when this one in our size came available i jumped on it until i can order a custom one. if it helps i don't care how it looks lol. Please excuse the scraggly mane this was just to go for a quick exercise in the back yard ??

PHT blankets are wonderful, but a good fitting saddle is the best.

I definitely agree a good fitting saddle is most important. I do believe we have that part taken care of now that I switched to a Prolite with a smaller gullet ??

I highly recommend PHT, I know they're pricey but you can do a payment plan if you want a brand new one. I lay in mine a lot on the couch, I can just feel myself relax more than normal. And my gelding I ran for 10 years knows that blanket and will try to put it on himself. And his other blankets he'd rather not have on. They definietly seem to nap more when they have it on, so they must like it. Its at least allowing them to rest more to recover. Highly recommend. A lot of people like the XLR8 one as well
