Hey there. For the first time I bought some fly sheets for my horses. They are the Kool Coat II. I was thinking they would be like a mesh type materialbut when they arrived they are more like nylon turn out sheets. When I read up on them it says they protest from the heat, flys , UV etc. even in the " hottest" weather. From the looks of them I am not so sure!!! To me they look like they would attract heat. Has anyone ever used these ? Are they really ok in the summer heat? It can get well over 100 here in summer. Thanks !
IDK. My horses can't have nice things. I've never had a fly sheet last a whe day.
I got them thinking the same thing. I'm in central IL and I can only use them when its 80 or cooler. Otherwise they sweat to death. A dry heat may be different, but our summer is heavy humidity. I use the SmartPak Deluxe for mine, it has 70% UV protection, its enough to keep my black gelding black. And he's typically out 24/7 with no shelter or shade unless for most of the summer. I do bring them in at certain degrees of ehat/humidity but then he just stands in his stall with it on in the barn. They don't sweat much with them

It's for sure DRY heat here. Little to zero humidity. Today I put it on him for the first time. It's only supposed to be like 80 and I'm on spring break to check on him. We shall see!
