  That's White "Man" to You

| I tried with a couple different barrel futurity horses. The first, got sore and couldn't proceed with training. The second, didn't have enough speed to be competative. It takes a couple years to get one ready without skipping any steps. If you skip steps you are wasting your time because they will come unraveled at the wrong time. So the futurity world is all about luck, timing, deep pockets and enough horses in the pipeline that if something happens your dreams aren't crushed. Also, when it comes to prospects, the ones that win arent your $5,000-20,000 prospect. Many are $100,000 or more. Since then I've moved into the reined cowhorse futurity world. Its very similar. You have to weed thru lots and lots of prospects and be ready to pay big to buy one with the goods to win. Also for every horse that wins $100k there are probably 400+ that dont. So from a business standpoint we are creating nice horses, that have been trained right, that can go on to be fancy non-pro horses. If they do win, that is just icing on the cake.
