| I give my mare December off and then take her to a spa/conditioning facility for January. She gets all the nice treatments and legged up in a nice indoor arena (since VA has cruddy winters for outside riding). It has worked great for my mare and show schedule. |

My husband sent his heel horse for a month and said it was 100% worth it. He was supposed to exercise him for 30 days before he roped on him. He is your sterotypical team roper--he doesn't want to ride unless he's roping. He said he did enough of that as a kid. He is self-employed and said he would much rather pick up a little extra work and pay someone else to leg him up than have to do it himself. We sent him to Horse Power in Conway, AR. He did the aquatred 5x a week. We got regular text/video progress reports and he looked like a million dollars when we picked him up and was mentally content as well. Would do it again in a heartbeat. |

It will vary depending on what you are having done of course--exercise, rehab, etc. It was January 2021 when we sent our horse and they were running a special. It was $850 for the month I believe. He had an indoor stall with a run, they provided hay, we brought his feed. He only got the aquatred 5x a week. No special therapy. |

Location: Arizona | Thanks for the input. I did end up sending her to a place here in AZ-FX Equine. She has a barn stall, fed twice a day including the supplements I brought, aqua tred 4x a week, then turned out on the eurociser, she's also getting some rehab done, laser therapy, and a couple of other things...hoping to pick her up in 30 days. Excited to see the results. |

| I sent my gelding to a swim lane and he looked amazing when I got him home! He was fit "ish" coming out of winter but I wanted to give him a boost. Totally worth it. I will be sending my mare to a water treadmill in a couple months when she comes off her rehab rest. |

I'm curious. Did his topline change. I know swimming is good for lungs, but it looks like the back hollows when the swim. |

I didn't find that his topline changed other than from a fitness aspect. |
