Today is
what can you tell me about the slow twist hemi with a lifesaver? the mechanics, feel etc. tia :)
I run a horse in it that dislikes any type of gag plus he is hard to stop at the end of a run. He immediately liked this bit and I have a little more control at the end. I like the slow twist for that extra little reminder the bit is there and the lifesaver acts a llittle like a port so it gives some tongue relief and the 3-piece is so much less harsh than a 2-piece. It looks like it could be a lot of bit, but it really isn't. My horse is actually very light in it and reacts quickly to small adjustments.
My gelding really liked a port but a full port was too much to run in, too much rate sometimes (especailly in an indoor for him) but this was just right. I felt like I had enough but also not so much I had to worry about my hands. I felt like I could lift him and get his shoulders but also come out with my hands too if needed. I didn't feel like I had too much on him ever. I have used it on a couple other horses and have liked it. I want to get the mini version to add to the collection. I think my mare would like it but she wouldn't need so much shank.
thank you!! im trying to get out of feedstore bridles & lookimg forward to feeling the difference in quality ??
It is a great bit to have in your collection...light hands are needed. The Short Shanked Hemi is also an option.
