Alll the info that i can find gives nothing more than "gives break at the ribcage." curious who can tell me more abt what this bit can help achieve, and what my hands need to be doing  to engage it properly! tia

  • That mouth will lay flat in the tounge and work a little on the sides. The gag eases the side effect until you run out of gag. Then you will be all on the sides. Curb length and how the bit hangs on the head will determine how fast the gag kicks in. 
    When you hit the end of the gag I find its usually a tugging match after that if you arent careful.
  • Some horses may tend to over bend thru the neck with this if your hands arent right. Some horses dont like a mouth pc lying on their tounge and can get tuggy, some dont mind. Depends on the horse and your hands what it will achieve.
