Location: LouLouVille, OK | Has anyone had a horse break their pelvic bone on the tip and come back 100%? My horse did it 2 years ago and is working but not clocking, injections regularly. |

Location: Claremore, OK | Yes, i've had a couple come back . The've also been around 3-4 that did not come back. There are ligaments attached that stabilize the pelvis. If those ligaments are damaged/torn, odds arw against the horse coming back |

I think the injury the OP is speaking of is a fracture of the wing of the illium , usually caused by hitting it at high speed coming out a stall or shed door. Sometimes you can ultrasound it, most of the time you can palpate it. It's not really xrayable . |

Yes that is exactly it. I didn't see it happen but end result was a horse in tremendous pain, worse then colic and only 2 spots close to that area missing hair... |

Did you have bone scans done to determine the damage? My horse is working like he always does but he is not clocking. Its been 2 years and something in my gut said he wouldn't be the same. He got the tip of his pelvis you could see on ultra sound |
