| I think a lot of folks wait until there is already a problem. By that point most oral supplements don't work. I say start them as young as you can. I do have a site I was referred to called bulksupplements.com and I order their HA pills and glucosamine. Its all human grade and a fraction of the cost of equine formulas. I give one 200mg capsule to each horse daily and have really seen actual results! One botle of 250 pills is like 27.00. Will last both my horses few months. |

Kind of my thoughts too and thanks for that site! I am off to check it out! |

| We start them as early as possible. The oral isn't going to fix anything, but for maintenance, I think it does help starting early before there is a problem. Ours are on joint and hoof supplements starting at 3 if they are going to be our performance horses. |

| I wish I could put my current horse on a maintenance joint supplement! All that I have tried have made her a nutcase. I can't give her cbd, ha, gutx. Nothing, nada. She's a frisky thing to begin with, but any supplement makes her more than I can deal with. |

Years ago I formulated and manufactured the first generation of Flex+ feed through for Absorbine, (not the current formula which I have nothing to do with). In the process we did a 55 horse clinical with over 40,000 measurements. What that showed was an improvement in length of stride, hoof to ground placement and inflammation reduction on heavy use horses with chronic range of motion issues related to arthritic changes and age related normal wear. This type of product does do much to not address acute injury to joints, though there is some pain relief. As a result, there is a place for this type of product, if properly made, as a prophylatic. I agree the starting this type of supplement early to support joint heath, but they do not do much if the damage is already done. |

So this brings a new question. If you are injecting a horse, do you continue feed through? |

Yes, I would consider feeding it, even if you are injecting. |
