| Why doesn't anybody post on here anymore? What happened to everybody? I know, for YEARS, my work blocked the site so I dropped off but I just wondered where everyone else went! |

| I think fb killed it more than any other one thing. I know it stopped being a fun place to visit with good information and became contentious instead. People have lost the art of constructive criticism and agreeing to disagree but remain friends. I have lots of differing opinions from those in my immediate social and equine circles. Sometimes we share that information to learn new ideas or ways of doing things. Sometimes it's stuff that is better not shared because it would only cause hurt and no positive change could come from sharing. |

Location: Illinois | I left for awhile because it got really nasty on here & for awhile it was all politics & no horse talk. I think facebook is the go-to now, even though its just as nasty there most of the time. I also think it dwindled once ******** e took over as the #1 place to sell barrel horses as far as a website goes |

Location: 31 lengths farms | I try to check in from time to time, just doesn't feel like the same place anymore. I signed up after Hurrican Katrina , I used to follow but didn't actually log on before that and when this community gathered together and rescued another member via helecoptor I decided this was the type of people I wanted to be part of. Very sad that it is no longer that. |

Location: My happy place | I think Facebook has taken a lot. However find it is awful hard to discuss or have an opinion on here. Especially if it doesn't agree with everyone. Which to me is totally crazy, how does anyone learn anything if you can't discuss options or different opinions? I have read this board since I found it at work in 2004. Now my opinions have never been really welcomed because I don't barrel race, which I understood and some what respected. Until I was getting trashed by people for my opinion, by some I don't think even had a horse. Let me enlighten some of you young people, you can learn a lot from old people especially horse people. I was lucky enough to be the only child of a good horse trainer, and if I kept my mouth shut I got to hang around some of the greats as a kid. Then I grew up and married the son on a horse trainer, I have trained my own horses for almost 60 years and have never not owned at least 3, have 5 now and a 2 year old. I won a lot in many events. I have also learned more since I've turned 50 than ever before. I don't say this to tout myself, I say this to remind you all, please keep learning things change and you never know everything. I have studied everything from Cutting to the Spanish School of Riding, you can learn something from everyone. I found this board already knows everything and dosen't really want any opinions on anything. JMO I grew up discussing training around every dinner table my dad has been gone 40+ years Mom 12, I would give anything to discuss training again with them again. My husband although he rides, he didn't have the trainer talks like we did. I sure miss it, he's a bit like having an opinion on here. |

Location: Kansas | A lot of criticism here. I thought it was so much fun and entertaining to the max for many years. I loved the horse and the political posts. I remember when we all helped a student contruct her term paper and even help furnish homes and build barns. Bear the doc helped folks with their health problems. Etc. It was social media, plain and simple. I tried FB for a while and deleted it. Now that was hateful stuff. |

Location: Willows, CA | Things change. My background is cutting horses and the traditional California Bridle Horse. That said my company's largest customer segment is barrel racing, and a larger percentage of our sponsored riders are barrel racers. Sherry Cervi, Mary Walker, Ivy Saebens, Dena Kirkpatrick, Sharin Hall to name a few. As a result, barrel racing is important to me, and I like to contribute to the nutritional understanding of what those horses need. This has been a great site to do that for quite a while, and I try to contribute without sounding like an pitch for the products that I make. I hate to see it dwindle away. I will stay and contribute when I can. It would be nice to see it grow again to a place where people can share opinions and information. But, like I said, things change. |

Marriage, starting a family and trying to start raise our own horses along with purchasing property and working the whole time, i haven't had time to get on here except to maybe look at horses for sale or maybe post one. I truly used to enjoy this site and was on all the time, now time just does not allow for it. I do think about and miss you though and think about some of you from time to time. |

| I got divorced and remarried and literally just bought a horse again. I haven't owned horses since 2015. I stopped coming on here mainly because no one really posts anything anymore. It was always like family though back in the early days. I do miss that. |
