If you have any questions about interpreting this information...please feel free to ask any questions! If your state is not listed, it means that they do not report that data to UDSA, so I cant help ya!

I am paying $8.00 a bale for premium Bermuda in north Alabama. I would love to know where to get it for $4.00 to $5.00 a bale. Thanks |

Let's just say (IN KANSAS!!) that usually prairie hay is about $2/bale. So, if they are 70# bales, 2000#'s in a tn, 28.5 bales per tn, and the price is $120/tn, that's $4.21/bale....right? Usually P hay is about $60/tn? Isn't that right? Brome around $80? Alfalfa usually $120?
Am I thinking right here??? Geeeesssshhhh....that means I'm going to have to DOUBLE the amount of colts I ride this year to pay for my hay, huh???? uuuggghhhh

Location: Bennett, CO | Ton prices will vary trought the year... I usually give 75-85 a ton for Alfalfa rounds in July.. But those same bales from the same hay grower are 130 a ton in April.... He called me and offered more!

Location: wherever my daughter's running | I can give you the hay report for SC - none to be found. Please see the report that was on the local news http://www.wspa.com/midatlantic/spa/home.html - click on hay problems - sad very sad.
I called every ad that was in our state market bulletin last night - all sold out - most before ad even went out to the public. The guy we always get hay from is praying he will get rain within the next 10 days and be able to cut in October. He found us 50 bales we can get this Friday - but we are already having to feed the hay because our pastures are parched. Looks like we are headed for a winter like the mid-west had last year. |
